So, I have all of these ideas of what I want this little blog to become. The problem is I feel trapped by not having enough information or being ignorant on how to make it happen. Quite honestly, there isn't enough time in my day to make it all happen. Be patient with me as I learn. I do love reading and linking to other sites. It inspires me and depresses me all at the same time.
Caught up with an old friend today. She was my first real friend when I moved to this city. I met her through work. She is a dear. Very classy and very beautiful. She doesn't age- ( I kind of hate her for that.) We would have to travel together for the many meetings and trainings we had to endure. She was always a wonderful roommate. We laughed a lot. She doesn't live here anymore and we don't work together either. I do think fondly of her and her family often. We laughed alot today, just like old times. Some of the best people I know and love I met through jobs. She's a keeper- Love you, A!
Has anyone started watching the new season of "The Real Housewives of...Atlanta?" OH MY GOOD GOSH- these women are something else. If you like "reality" tv- this one's dvr/tivo worthy. The one white girl on this show is so PLASTIC. Her hair totally bugs me. It looks like a bad wig. Does she really think she looks good? One of the episodes last night was about her daughter's 11th birthday party, for which she spent $18,000 on. Are you kidding me? At one point, her and her friend went down to the hotel bar for a cocktail to deal with kids and left them up in the hotel room. Wow.
Soiling Dog Update- He has colitis. No, I'm not kidding. He has to have this special medicine given to him in this gigundus syringe twice daily. The medicine looks like liquid poo. Again, I 'm not kidding. Guess who's not helping with the dosing. Also, he needs to go back to this special dog food that costs a thousand dollars a bag to help him soil less. I'm so sure...which of course leads me back to my original post- it's time for him to go.....oh wait he's already doing that - alot!
I went to Costco today. I'm very proud that I did not purchase the shrimp stuffed salmon that I've been serving once a week. I did however try a new product. Montgomery Inn BBQ Shredded Pork. Thumbs up! It was a winner for both husband and kids alike! Tonight's dinner- pulled pork sandwiches and soup. No one else was excited about the soup- but the temperature went down in the 30's. Baby, it's cold outside and that means SOUP.
Book Update- Just about finished listening to "The Abstinence Teacher" by Tom Perrotta. Loving it! I'm about 2/3 of the way through "Dear Neighbor, Drop Dead." Can't remember the author at this time. It's cute, but not memorable. I am however, in love with Tom Perrotta. I must find his other books. Here's my dilemma. Two of his other novels were made into movies and I have watched them. I never like to see a movie of a book before I read the book. I like to read first then watch. Don't know why- just the way it is. Also- If I really loved a book I'm sometimes afraid to see the movie for fear it will ruin my reading experience. Case in point, I loved "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd. Don't know if I can watch the movie. Also, wouldn't watch "The Kite Runner" movie. I loved the book too much for the movie to ruin any of my mind's eye memories. Bottom line, I think I'll read his one other novel quickly before it's made into a movie, which I read it might be!
What are your quirky quirks? I'd love for you to share them.
PS- This is soiling dog- and I really don't want to get rid of him, just his little pooping problem.
