New crush alert- Gavin DeGraw.  He was supposed to be touring with last week's picks and had to pull out due to being assaulted on the streets of NYC.  He was beat up pretty bad.  He's doing better now. Recently, I heard an interview he did regarding the incident.  He introduced this new song as part of the interview.

I love the lilt

Life is one big mystery, isn't it?  Circumstances can change on a dime.  Within the last three days, two close friends who had been going through (let's just call it "Some Stuff that was making them extremely unhappy.")  had a change in those said circumstances.  In the process of speaking with both friends (individually of course) as they were explaining said changes- their whole demeanor had changed.  The body language, the sound of their voice. 

I said to them both- "You're lilt is back."  And it was.  That sound in your voice that lets others know you're doing okay.  You're happy.  You're back on track.  Sometimes you may not even know the lilt went away - until it comes back. 

It's a good thing.  The lilt- it's contagious.

 
 

Saturday Soundtrack- Daily Double (or Triple Threat)

Well-it's the last weekend before school starts.  I was supposed to go to see Maroon 5 and Train in concert this weekend.  For a number of reasons, the plans have fallen through.  So, you'll have to indulge me- here's a few new songs by both of those bands.

Saturday Soundtrack- More Glee Love

Last night, I took Youngest and a friend to see the new Glee 3D Movie.  Did I mention we had a FANTASTIC TIME?!

Yeah, we did.  I love when you can actually share with your fellow movie-goers the joy you are experiencing while watching a film together.  Everyone was singing and laughing.  It was a very fine time. 

The movie was actually a concert with behind the scenes footage of the performers playing to the camera as their on-screen characters.  Additionally, they mixed in fan footage from folks attending the  Concerts from around the country.  They highlighted  a few fans who were "different" and  went more in-depth with them.  Some of them talking about how Glee helped them embrace their differences.  (I know it sounds a little schmaltzy, but believe me when I say it was very uplifting.) 

Everyone left the theatre smiling and singing.  What more can you ask for on a Friday night?

So to honor the experience, here's an original Glee song that celebrates the "Loser" in all of us.

Happy Anniversary to Me.....

Well, because it deserves to be noted- It's my 22nd Wedding Anniversary today.  So, there, I said it.

No special plans for the occasion.  Small  gifts of affection were exchanged.  Words of endearment were shared.  Family dinner consisting of hamburgers on the grill.  Glad it's Friday.

Oh my-he's another year older, another year better, funnier, grumpier, handsomer, hotter (I'm talking body temperature here, people....) ornerier, lovelier, sarcasticer, analyzeier, sportier and just plain more "ererereryer!'  (It really does make sense- just work with me on this okay?)

Enjoy your day- you deserve the best of everything.  Know that you are loved and appreciated for who you are to me and every member of our family.
