This photo (badly represents) the speeding ticket Eldest received today. Her first. She was going 73 mph in a 55 mph zone. Yikes! According to her- (which I actually tend to believe...) she was passing 2 semi trucks and sped up to get around them. "Mom, you know how freaked I get about being near big trucks..."
True- but still, you need to be careful. The police officer was not so nice, understandably so, but she didn't cry. She also didn't tell her Dad or I right away. Who was her first phone call? Her boyfriend. He was the one who actually told us, because Eldest was too scared. (I know I can be really scary....)
Well, it will be fun watching her pain as she pays her $105 fine. I don't even want to think about the change in her insurance rate. Yikes, again!
not sure if she wants to take the time. But she could appeal it and tell them she felt it was safer to move past and then reduce speed. Just be honest....I did once and it cost me half and they cut the points as well. Espiecally since it is her first one. Just a thought. Bummer

Good point- never thought of that. She was driving back from Wauseon by herself for the first time- she told the policeman she was coming back from visiting her grandparents- which she was- but it didn't buy her any sympathy points.

Clearly she takes after her mother in this department and not her (soon to be 30 year perfect, no speeding ticket in his lifetime driving record-father)....defensive driving and cruise control are the perfect cure ladies....the two of you may want to try it sometime! :-)
